Regional yield trials were conducted for as a breeding line ‘Iksan175’ four different regions from 2014-2016. It has type I growth habit, its average heading maturity dates April 12 May 20, respectively-which 1 day later than the date of ‘Hopum’ variety. As shorter culm length (77 cm) that ‘Hopum’, it showed stress. This variety possesses rym5 gene is resistant BaYMV. 42.9 g 1000-grain weight 90% assortment ratio. The potential 408 kg/10a, which approximately 18% higher ‘Hopum’. Analysis grain quality high low protein ?-glucan content. Malt analysis revealed 72.8% extract, 4.2% soluble protein, 38.9% kolbach index, 243 WK diastatic power, all similar those would be suitable cultivation areas Korea have daily minimum temperature -4? month January (Registration No. 7960).Keywords : barley, BaYMV resistance, malt,

Effect of Barley yellow dwarf virus Infection on Yield and Malting Quality of Barley
Barley yellow dwarf (BYD), the most common and widespread virus disease of cereal crops worldwide (14), may be caused by any one of several Barley yellow dwarf viruses (BYDVs) of the family Luteoviridae. Transmitted by at least 25 aphid species (24), these viruses historically have been classified into two subgroups and five strains based on aphid vector specificity and efficiency (31). However...

JEDLINSKI, H., W. F. ROCHOW, and C. M. BROWN. 1977. Tolerance to barley yellow dwarf virus in oats. Phytopathology 67: 1408-1411. Disease severity was highly correlated with reduction in plants of each of the three tolerant lines than from plants of yield of three pairs of sister oat lines representing F7 each of the three lines that lacked tolerance. These data show generation progenies that t...

Barley Yellow Mosaic Virus VPg Is the Determinant Protein for Breaking eIF4E-Mediated Recessive Resistance in Barley Plants
In this study, we investigated the barley yellow mosaic virus (BaYMV, genus Bymovirus) factor(s) responsible for breaking eIF4E-mediated recessive resistance genes (rym4/5/6) in barley. Genome mapping analysis using chimeric infectious cDNA clones between rym5-breaking (JT10) and rym5-non-breaking (JK05) isolates indicated that genome-linked viral protein (VPg) is the determinant protein for br...
